- Select scenes from this movie will be shown in class: from the end of the initial credits to the competition in the streets of San Francisco with Herbie racing against a 1930s hot rod with two young hippies onboard.
- In Fall 2024, we also watched the next few scenes, featuring Jim Douglas and Carole. Herbie, the sentient Volkswagen Beetle, unexpectedly takes them hostage. This peculiar abduction leads to an impromptu visit to a burger joint where you can eat in your car, followed by a surprising deviation to Seabreeze Point—a secluded spot for couples in love.
